This bill aims to increase contributions to the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund. It does this by amending the General Laws to require employers to pay a workforce competitiveness trust fund contribution in addition to their regular unemployment insurance contributions. The contribution rate varies based on the number of employees, starting at 0.028% for the first 19 employees, increasing to 0.042% for the 20th through 100th employees, and reaching 0.056% for the 101st employee and beyond. The commissioner is also required to report annually on the collection of these contributions, including the amounts collected and the number of contributing employers and employees.
