This bill amends Section 2 of Chapter 60B of the General Laws to give cities and towns more control over the allocation of boat excise tax revenue. Specifically, it allows a city or town's legislative body to change the percentage of the boat excise tax that is credited to the municipal waterways improvement and maintenance fund, as long as the percentage does not drop below 50%. This provides local governments with greater flexibility in managing these funds for the benefit of their waterways and related infrastructure.
