This bill authorizes certain local health agencies to conduct in-depth reviews of fetal and infant deaths within their jurisdiction. The authorized local health agencies will be designated by the Department of Public Health and will be able to collect relevant data from various sources, including medical records and community program records, to identify local factors associated with these deaths and inform public health policy programs. The Department of Public Health may also provide guidance on the process for conducting these fetal and infant mortality reviews, which may include guidance from the National Fetal and Infant Mortality Review Program.
