This bill aims to allow equal access to solar net metering projects. It defines an "equal access solar net metering project" as solar energy generating equipment interconnected with the electric distribution system at a single point behind a single meter, with a nameplate capacity of not more than 60kW AC, located on a parcel of land subdivided after January 1, 2010 or co-owned or co-tenanted by multiple customers. The bill limits the number of equal access solar net metering projects that a customer can register on a single parcel of land, and specifies that the aggregate capacity of such projects and other solar net metering facilities on a single parcel cannot exceed 2MW. It also states that solar energy generating equipment interconnected with the electric distribution system before the effective date of this act will not qualify as an equal access solar net metering project.
