This bill amends Chapter 153 of the Acts of 1997 to allow local licensing authorities to grant temporary licenses for the sale of wine, beer, and malt liquor at auctions to nonprofit charitable corporations organized under Chapter 180 of the General Laws. These temporary licenses can be granted for up to 10 consecutive calendar days, with no more than two such licenses per calendar year. The fees for these temporary licenses cannot exceed the minimum fee for regular licenses to sell wine, beer, and malt liquor. The bill also allows licensed sellers under Section 15 of Chapter 138 to obtain similar temporary licenses for auctions. The application procedures under Section 15A of Chapter 138 do not apply to these temporary licenses, but local licensing authorities can impose conditions on the hours of operation and other reasonable terms.
