This bill appropriates funds to the Office of the State Board of Education for fiscal year 2020. It authorizes the office to have up to 35.25 full-time equivalent positions and reappropriates any unexpended and unencumbered balances from the Public Charter School Authorizers Fund for fiscal year 2019 to be used for non-recurring expenditures in fiscal year 2020. Additionally, the bill requires the State Board of Education to provide an annual update to the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee on sublease rent payments and any outstanding amounts related to a previous legislative resolution. The bill also directs up to $100,000 from the Opportunity Scholarship Program Account to be used for external evaluations of certain education programs, with the results to be reported to the legislative committees.
