This bill amends the Public School Code of 1949 to require schools to conduct both fire drills and school security drills on an alternating monthly basis. The bill specifies that school security drills may be conducted during school hours with students present, and that the chief school administrator must notify local law enforcement and emergency management agencies before conducting the security drill at least once per school year. Additionally, the chief school administrator must provide advance notice of the security drill to parents and legal guardians of students attending the school.
