This bill amends the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to further provide for jurisdiction and penalties, and for the offense of unlawful taking and possession of protected birds, including bald and golden eagles, as well as endangered or threatened species. Specifically, it imposes a summary offense and a fine of not less than $2,000 when the offense involves the killing of a bald or golden eagle, and also increases the penalty for a violation that results in the killing of a protected bird listed in the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
