This bill amends existing law to increase the maximum levy rate for an ambulance district. Specifically, it allows an ambulance service district to increase its budget by up to the difference between 0.06% and the prior year's actual levy, if the prior year's levy was less than 0.06%. This additional amount must be approved by 60% of the voters in an election held in May or November. The bill also makes a technical change related to the limitation on budget requests for taxing districts.
