Bill Summary

This bill requires the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development, in consultation with the Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology to conduct a study on the economic impacts of artificial intelligence on economic growth pertaining to white collar professions, and then prepare and submit a written report to the Governor and the Legislature on the topic. This subject has not received attention in most previous investigations on the topic, but is important considering recent technological advances. The written report is to include the predicted impact of artificial intelligence on the market for white-collar positions and other professions requiring a post-graduate education, which jobs will be most impacted by this expansion, the educational implications of these findings, and any new professions that may come into being as a result of this expansion.
