Bill Summary
Authorize Sports Wagering on Tribal Lands
AI Summary
This bill authorizes sports wagering on tribal lands in North Carolina. Specifically, it allows for sports wagering to be conducted on Indian lands held in trust by the federal government for federally recognized Indian tribes, as long as it is done in accordance with a valid tribal-state gaming compact that has been negotiated by the Governor and approved by the U.S. Department of the Interior. The bill also limits the number of Class III gaming facilities authorized under such a compact to no more than three per tribe.
