This bill authorizes the possession, use, cultivation, distribution, transportation, and delivery of medical cannabis for medical use by patients for whom a physician determines medical use is the best available treatment for the patient's medical condition or symptoms. The bill requires the Department of Public Safety to license medical cannabis dispensing organizations and maintain a medical use registry. The bill also prohibits municipalities, counties, and other political subdivisions from prohibiting the cultivation, production, dispensing, or possession of medical cannabis authorized under the bill.
