This bill provides for the licensure of school psychologists in New York. It defines the practice of school psychology, sets forth the requirements for professional licensure (including educational attainment, experience, examination, and fees), authorizes the use of the title "school psychologist" for licensed or exempt individuals, provides for the issuance of limited permits under certain circumstances, and identifies individuals who are exempt from the licensing requirements. The bill also directs various state agencies to establish a multi-tiered system of support model for substance use prevention and intervention that utilizes the expertise of school psychologists and other mental and behavioral health practitioners.
