This bill appropriates $100 million from the state transportation fund's bond proceeds account to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for construction and reconstruction of local roads with statewide or regional significance, as well as grants to assist counties with rural road safety capital improvement projects. It also appropriates $100 million to match federal funds and replace or rehabilitate deficient local bridges. The bill authorizes the Commissioner of Management and Budget to sell up to $200 million in state bonds to fund these appropriations, and the act takes effect upon final enactment.
