This bill modifies the mission and purpose of the University Hospitals, deletes obsolete language, and changes the membership of the University Hospitals Authority. Specifically, the bill renames the Oklahoma Memorial Hospital as University Hospital, renames the Everett Tower and North Pavilion as Children's Hospital at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, and clarifies that the Bielstein, Garrison, Nicholson and MRI towers are no longer being used as hospitals. The bill also changes the membership of the University Hospitals Authority, removing the Director for Human Services and the director of the successor organization responsible for Medicaid and replacing them with the Administrator of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Additionally, the bill provides more flexibility for the Authority to appoint officers, agents and employees, and expands the Authority's powers to enter into contracts and arrangements. The bill has an effective date of November 1, 2019.
