This Resolution formally congratulates the Charlton Heights Elementary School Odyssey of the Mind Team for winning the New York State Championship on March 23, 2019. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in students from kindergarten through college by having them tackle open-ended challenges. The Charlton Heights team, part of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District, competed in a problem called "Leonardo's Workshop," which required them to create and perform an original story about Leonardo da Vinci. Their winning solution featured a hydraulic robotic knight and replicas of da Vinci's famous paintings, brought to life through song, dance, and dialogue. The Resolution also acknowledges the guidance of coaches Kodi Kibler and Sara Welsh, names the six fourth-grade team members, and expresses pride in their accomplishment, recognizing the values of teamwork and excellence they demonstrated. Finally, it directs that copies of this Resolution be sent to the team members and their coaches.
