This bill, titled the VETS Safe Travel Act or the Veterans Expedited TSA Screening Safe Travel Act, makes certain severely injured or disabled veterans eligible for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck program at no cost. The eligible veterans are those determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs to have lost a limb, become paralyzed or partially paralyzed, or incurred permanent blindness, and require the use of a wheelchair, prosthetic limb, or other assistive device for mobility. The bill requires the TSA Administrator and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to develop a process for validating the eligibility of these veterans and submit a report to Congress on the implementation status within 180 days of the bill's enactment.
