This bill amends existing laws to provide an increase in pensions for retired judges who are veterans, served at least 90 days on active duty while serving as a judge, and retired at age 70 with at least 10 years of continuous judicial service or resigned after 15 years of continuous service and reaching age 65. The bill requires the state retirement board to notify all retired judges collecting pensions of the opportunity to apply for the pension increase, and the board must make a determination on any application within 30 days. The increased pension will be equal to three-fourths of the current annual rate of regular compensation for a judge in the same or similar position as the retired judge held at the time of retirement.
