AI Summary

This bill amends the Correction Law in New York to set limitations on the distance sex offenders may be required to live apart from certain areas. Specifically, it requires that residency restrictions for sex offenders classified as a level three risk, who committed an offense against a minor, or who have been assigned a special designation, do not require them to live beyond 1,000 feet from public, private and charter schools, or beyond a quarter mile from the workplace and residence of any registrant's victim or the prior residence of a deceased victim's family member. The bill also allows sex offenders classified as a level one or two risk who have been registered for at least 30 years to petition the court to be relieved of further registration requirements.
