Bill Summary

To amend title 18, United States Code, to expand to all firearms the requirement that Federal firearms licensees report sales of 2 or more handguns to the same unlicensed person within 5 consecutive business days. This bill expands reporting requirements with respect to sales or dispositions of multiple firearms. Currently, a federal firearms licensee (e.g., a gun dealer) must report multiple sales of pistols or revolvers to the same person within five business days. This bill requires a federal firearms licensee to report multiple sales or dispositions of any firearms to the same person within five business days.

AI Summary

This bill expands the requirement for federal firearms licensees (such as gun dealers) to report the sale of multiple firearms to the same unlicensed person within five business days. Currently, this requirement applies only to the sale of two or more handguns, but this bill would extend it to the sale of any type of firearm. This change is intended to modernize the multiple sales reporting requirement and provide law enforcement with more comprehensive data on firearm purchases.
