This bill amends the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to add a definition of "cremation" to include not only the traditional thermal process but also other dissolution methods, such as alkaline hydrolysis, that reduce human remains to bone fragments. The bill also specifies that the term "cremation" includes the processing and pulverization of the bone fragments and the placement of the processed remains in a cremated remains container. The bill will take effect 60 days after being signed into law.
