This bill requires child care centers to develop and implement a drinking water safety plan, which must include the installation of filtered bottle-filling stations and filtered faucets for water used for human consumption. The plan must also include schedules for water testing and filter replacement. The bill further requires child care centers to shut off any water outlets not converted to filtered stations or faucets and to post signs indicating which outlets are for human consumption. The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy is required to provide templates, guidance, and other assistance to child care centers to help them comply with these new requirements.
