This bill amends the 2006 "An act to restrict the use and disclosure of certain statements made by law enforcement officers" by modifying the definition of "involuntary statement." Specifically, it clarifies that an "involuntary statement" is truthful information provided by a law enforcement officer under threat of employment sanctions. The bill also expands the definition of "law enforcement officer" to include local corrections officers and emergency dispatch workers employed by law enforcement agencies. The amendments take effect 90 days after the bill is enacted into law.
