This bill amends the Public Official Compensation Law to further provide for the compensation of members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. Specifically, it adds a new subsection that limits health insurance benefits for members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to only the time they remain in office, including the interim period between legislative sessions if they are reelected. The bill defines "health insurance benefits" to include medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, and long-term care insurance coverage paid for by the Commonwealth on behalf of the House member, their spouse, or other qualified adults or dependents. The provisions of the bill apply to House members elected after the effective date of the legislation, which is 60 days after enactment.
