This bill amends Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to provide miscellaneous provisions for servicemember-owned businesses, formerly known as veteran-owned small businesses. The key provisions include: 1) the creation of an official Commonwealth logotype to be used by veteran, reservist, or National Guard-owned businesses, which will be issued by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (the Department) after verifying the military service status of the business owners; 2) the establishment of a nominal fee to cover the cost of verification and the use of the Veterans' Trust Fund to support the logotype program; and 3) the imposition of a misdemeanor penalty for fraudulently holding oneself out as a veteran, reservist, or National Guard member to obtain the logotype.
