This bill amends Section 14-7-840 of the 1976 Code to raise the age exemption from jury service from 65 years of age or older to 75 years of age or older. The bill allows persons exempt under this section to be excused upon telephone confirmation of their date of birth and age to the clerk of court or the chief magistrate, and requires the clerk of court to maintain a list of persons excused by the court and the reasons for the excuse.
