This bill appropriates $18,446,578 from the State General Fund to the Mississippi State Department of Education for the purpose of providing additional funding for teachers' salaries for the fiscal year 2020. The money appropriated is meant to fully fund teacher salaries above the level provided during the fiscal year 2020. The bill further specifies that the funds shall be paid by the State Treasurer upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer, and the act shall take effect immediately upon passage.
