This bill amends the law governing the University of Alaska Board of Regents. It increases the number of regents from 11 to 12 and requires that at least one of the 12 regents must be a current, tenured full-time faculty member employed at the University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Fairbanks, or University of Alaska Southeast. The faculty regent's term of office is two years, and the governor must appoint a successor within 60 days if the faculty regent position is vacated. The bill also increases the quorum requirement for the Board of Regents from 6 to 7 members to conduct corporate business.
