This bill amends the Illinois Insurance Code to require that individual or group policies of accident or health insurance that cover telehealth services must provide coverage for telehealth services used to treat a mental, emotional, nervous, or substance use disorder or condition. The bill also removes barriers to the use of telehealth, such as requiring in-person contact or documentation of a barrier to an in-person consultation, and ensures that deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance for telehealth services are not higher than for in-person services.
