Bill Summary

To provide increased access to hearing aids

AI Summary

This bill aims to provide increased access to hearing aids. It amends the existing state law by removing restrictions that prevented physicians from selling hearing aids or having a financial interest in a business that sells hearing aids. The bill also allows audiologists and hearing instrument specialists to dispense or sell hearing aids when employed by or affiliated with an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat doctor). Additionally, violations of the relevant sections of the law will now be considered a violation of the state's consumer protection law, known as Chapter 93A.
