This bill expands the coverage of the Campaign Finance Act to include unified school districts with 5,000 or more students and community colleges, in addition to the existing coverage of cities of the first class, counties, and boards of public utilities. The bill amends the definition of "local office" in the Campaign Finance Act to include these additional entities. This change will subject these larger school districts and community colleges to the campaign finance reporting and disclosure requirements that currently apply to other local offices.
