This bill creates a program within the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, in consultation with the Environmental Facilities Corporation, to assist lake associations with water quality improvement. The program will identify water quality concerns, determine effective remediation methods, and provide assistance in implementing best practices to improve and maintain water quality at lakes managed by these associations. The bill also establishes a grant program to support remedial actions to address water quality issues. The department is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations to implement this new program.
