This bill aims to expand the distribution options for licensed raw milk farmers in Massachusetts. It allows them to deliver raw milk directly to consumers off-site from the farm, as long as the farmer maintains a direct contractual relationship with the consumer. Farmers can also sell raw milk at their farm stands, even if the stands are not contiguous to the raw milk dairy. The bill also requires the Department of Agricultural Resources to adopt reasonable rules and regulations governing the handling, packaging, storage, testing, and transportation of raw milk, while permitting the use of non-mechanical refrigeration.
