This bill adds to and amends existing law to provide for certain fees and to revise how certain fees are paid. Specifically, it: 1. Allows court-ordered breath or bodily fluid testing costs to be paid directly to the agency providing the testing or to the clerk of the court if services are provided by the county. 2. Authorizes counties to establish a juvenile supervised pretrial release program and allows the court to assess a monthly juvenile pretrial supervision fee to be paid to the clerk of the district court and deposited into the county juvenile probation fund. 3. Clarifies that the county misdemeanor probation supervision fee can include court-ordered costs and fees, such as electronic monitoring fees, and specifies how those additional fees should be paid. 4. Revises the distribution order for payments made in criminal cases to include misdemeanor probation supervision fees, court-ordered costs and fees, and pretrial release supervision fees. 5. Allows the court to order defendants in a pretrial supervision program to pay a pretrial supervision fee and additional fees for services like electronic monitoring, with the fees being paid to the clerk of the court and used exclusively to cover the related costs.
