This bill amends the definition of "preschool budget enrollment" in Iowa's statewide preschool program to provide higher funding for school districts offering more hours of preschool instruction per week. Specifically, the bill establishes three funding tiers based on the number of hours of instruction provided - 50% of actual enrollment for 10-14 hours per week, 60% for 14-18 hours per week, and 70% for 18 or more hours per week. The bill takes effect on January 1, 2021 and applies to school budget years beginning on or after July 1, 2021.
