This Concurrent Resolution mandates that the Arizona Department of Health Services develop warning labels for medical marijuana packaging, based on guidance from the U.S. Surgeon General, to be affixed by registered nonprofit medical marijuana dispensaries. It also directs the department to use funds from the medical marijuana fund to provide grants for research studies on the safety and efficacy of marijuana for medical purposes, specifically investigating its links to schizophrenia and violent behavior, and requires that all research findings be publicly posted. Furthermore, the resolution establishes a new "medical marijuana classification" for state transaction privilege tax purposes, with a portion of the tax revenue generated from medical marijuana sales to be allocated to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System for services for seriously mentally ill individuals.
