This bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish a grant program for state-designated trauma centers, trauma centers verified by the American College of Surgeons, and certain nonprofit entities to establish or expand intervention or prevention programs related to intentional violent trauma, excluding intimate partner violence. The bill requires the first grant award to be made within 9 months of the bill's enactment and each grant to be for a 3-year period, with a total grant amount between $250,000 and $500,000. The bill also requires the HHS Secretary to develop and disseminate best practices for intentional violent trauma prevention and submit a report to Congress on the program's findings and recommendations.
