This bill removes the limits and phaseout provisions on the income tax subtraction for Social Security benefits received by Minnesota taxpayers. Previously, there were caps on the maximum subtraction amount and the subtraction was reduced for taxpayers with higher levels of provisional income. The bill makes the Social Security income tax subtraction unlimited, effective for tax years beginning after December 31, 2019.
