This bill modifies the rules for operating all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) on public roads in Minnesota. It allows statutory or home rule charter cities and towns to pass ordinances permitting ATV operation on trunk highway segments within their jurisdiction that have a speed limit of 30 miles per hour or less. This provides more flexibility for local communities to determine appropriate ATV use on certain public roads, while maintaining existing restrictions on ATV operation on interstate highways, and requirements around time of day, location, and purpose of ATV use on other public roads.
