This bill establishes an annual tax holiday period for the seven days prior to Labor Day, during which school supplies with a sales tax value of $[insert amount] or less will be exempt from sales tax. The term "school supplies" is defined to include common items like pencils, pens, notebooks, textbooks, and backpacks, but excludes certain paper products, adhesives, and backpacks not primarily used for school. The tax holiday provision is effective for sales and purchases made after June 30, 2020.
