Bill Summary
Relative to advance placement examinations
AI Summary
This bill requires all public institutions of higher education in Massachusetts to develop written procedures for accepting certain scores on the College Board's advanced placement examinations for credit to satisfy degree requirements. The institutions must post their policies and procedures on their websites and submit them to the Department of Higher Education, which will also post them on its website. The Board of Higher Education, in cooperation with the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees, must annually review the advanced placement examination score course granting policies of each institution and report its findings and recommendations to the state legislature. The first annual report is required by July 1, 2021, and Section 1 of the bill must take effect within 3 months of the bill's effective date.
