This bill amends Alaska law to observe Daylight Saving Time (DST) throughout the calendar year, rather than just during the spring and summer months. The bill will only take effect if the United States Congress amends federal law to allow states to observe DST year-round by December 31, 2029. Once the federal law is changed, the new Alaska law will take effect on the first Sunday in November, unless the federal change occurs after October 1 and before the first Sunday in November, in which case the new Alaska law will take effect the following year on the first Sunday in November. The bill also requires the Alaska Attorney General to notify the state's Revisor of Statutes if the federal law is amended to allow year-round DST.
