This bill modifies the continuing education credit, evaluations, and standards of conduct for real property appraisers in Minnesota. It defines "evaluation" as an opinion on the value of real property for a real estate-related financial transaction where an appraisal is not required by federal law. The bill allows licensed real estate appraisers to provide evaluations without being subject to the chapter governing real estate appraisals, as long as they disclose that the evaluation is not an appraisal. The bill also allows appraisers to receive continuing education credit for out-of-state classroom courses that meet certain requirements, and exempts evaluations from the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Performance.
