AI Summary

This bill amends Louisiana law to require the issuance of a written warning, instead of a citation, for the first-time violation of certain vehicle equipment requirements. Specifically, if a vehicle or combination of vehicles (such as an 18-wheeler, tractor-trailer, or truck) is found to have an unsafe condition or missing/improperly repaired equipment, the officer must issue a written warning and give the driver/owner three days to provide proof of repair. If the proof is not provided within three days, the officer can then issue a formal citation for the original violation. The bill also directs the relevant state agencies to promulgate rules and regulations to implement these changes.
