This Memorial, a legislative commemoration from the South Dakota Legislature, celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the South Dakota Tractor Museum, located in Kimball, South Dakota. Since opening in May 2000, the museum has significantly expanded from its initial twenty-two tractors to include a diverse collection of cars, farm and horse equipment, a 1917 derby truck, a one-room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, and a visitor center, all thanks to eleven building projects over the years. The museum operates with approximately forty local volunteers overseen by a seven-member board, opening annually from mid-May through September, and is accessible year-round by appointment, offering free tours with welcomed donations, and is conveniently situated just south of I-90 at Exit 284.
