This bill amends Minnesota law to require mandatory live animal testing for chronic wasting disease in farmed cervidae (deer and elk) herds, to the extent practicable. It also requires the Board of Animal Health to consider relevant test results from other states when determining a herd's chronic wasting disease status. The bill also maintains existing requirements, such as reporting herd movements, testing deceased animals, and depopulating herds where chronic wasting disease is detected.
