This bill expands the reporting of crimes motivated by bias, modifies the crime of property damage motivated by bias, requires the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) board to update training on recognizing, responding to, and reporting crimes of bias, and mandates law enforcement agencies to adopt standard policies regarding crimes motivated by bias. The bill also appropriates money to the POST board and the commissioner of human rights to update training materials and collect data on crimes motivated by bias.
