AI Summary
This bill, the Modernized Medicine Act, provides for a temporary increase in the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) for Medicaid telehealth services during the COVID-19 public health emergency. In order to receive the increased FMAP, state Medicaid programs must provide coverage for telehealth services consistent with Medicare's coverage of such services, including any waivers under Section 1135 of the Social Security Act. However, the bill does not require states to pay for telehealth services at a rate exceeding the normal payment amount under the state's Medicaid plan.
