This bill provides $9 million in bond proceeds to the City of Carver for capital improvements to restore the Carver Levee, which protects an important historic district from flooding of the Minnesota River. The project includes raising the height of the levee, constructing internal drainage, establishing maintainable setbacks, and obtaining FEMA certification. The city will contribute $2.15 million in non-state funds towards the project, in recognition of the $1.2 million it has already spent since 2016 on reconstructing internal drainage and a new lift station to protect the Carver Historic District during flood events.
