This bill: Expands the definitions of "direct emissions" and "indirect emissions" under the Massachusetts Global Warming Solutions Act to include a broader range of greenhouse gas-emitting sources and activities. It establishes interim 2030 and 2040 emissions limits consistent with the state's goal of achieving net-zero statewide greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The bill requires the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs to issue a 2050 emissions reduction roadmap plan, promulgate related regulations, and conduct modeling and analysis of the state's energy economy and emissions.
